Review Goddess: Reclaim your dreams
Posted by Goddess Leonie on April 30th, 2009. Filed under: Business Goddess, Review Goddess.
Hola gorgeous Goddesses,
So I’ve been sitting here by the windows, trying to catch some autumn sunlight warmth. Chris is mastering the art of the mid-afternoon nap on the couch in front of me. Angelcakes is sleeping on him. (Important Angel update: Angel’s hair is growing growing growing. She is becoming less Maltese and more Shitzu by the day). Charlie is practicing the art of curling himself into the tiniest ball possible for a puppy-snooze. It is quiet, except for Chris’s sleepy exhales & shamanic drumming music playing softly in the corner. Bliss. Utterly bliss.
So I thought I’d write you a love letter. Tell you what I’m reading to indulge that incorrigible-book-pimp inside me. There’s nothing I love better than talking about books. Books that illuminate and delight and awaken. *happy sigh*
So settle in! It’s book-recommending time!
I discovered the lovely Jonathan Mead through one of my favourite blogs who I sooo don’t mention enough *cough* – Leo Babauta’s Zen Habits. (Leo’s ebooks & zen philosophies are the ones I keep spouting happy love letters and posters to). Jonathan writes for Zen Habits and is also the Head-Inspiration-God behind Illuminated Mind. Henceforth, I will not call the Jonathan Jonathan, as I am incapable of calling people by their proper names. Just ask Ebear, Fifi, Lilypilly, K-Lo & Angebange in my team at work. They haven’t heard their real names from me since forever. I think I was born without the gene for saying real names. Except for Chris. Even if he does get “hottie cakes” “hottie banottie” and “my guru” a little over 83% of the time.
My point is (and I do have one), a dude wrote this book I’m reading, and his former name was Jonathan and I have renamed him J-meister. For now. This could change in the next paragraph.
(Will this intro spiel ever stop? I don’t know. This could well be the Never-Ending story. Make it stop Leonie! Make it stop!).
Forcing myself to write a new heading
Phew. That’s better. Moving on.
So J-Mo wrote his first e-book Reclaim Your Dreams: An Uncommon Guide to Living Life on your own terms. And I’ve been reading it. And I like it.
The End.
Surely there is more to the review than that?
Umm, yep there is. But Leonie is in a very, very silly mood. One too many chai lattes this morning. Woooooooo! I will attempt to make sense. For you. For Jono-Moko. For the sake of the written word.
So, we’ve met up for chai latte & as per usual, I’ve lead/dragged/kidnapped you into the bookstore to show you what I’m reading and wax on (and wax off) about it.
So, I’d say, it’s a book about making your big dream come true. A pathway to working out what you want to do, clearing away those thoughts & patterns that might be holding you back & stepping into the flow of living The Big Dream. However it looks to you.
If you are in the below categories, I’m pretty sure you will like this book:
* You’re still working out what you want to do & need help with it
* You know what you want to do & need to know how to step into it & make it your living.
What I like about Reclaim your Dreams:
There are some really great exercises and activities to do in this book along the book-journey. Some of my favourites:
* Creating your Dream sanctuary
* Speaking with your wiser self
* (my number one favourite) Snowballing your Dream Time.
Book-sale time!
There’s one thing I love more than books. And that’s book sales. And Borders book vouchers. The J-meister let me know that Reclaim your Dreams is on sale at the mo. Right now, it’s $19.95. On May 1st, the price of Reclaim Your Dreams pops up to $24.95. That’s like a 20% off Borders book voucher. Why do I calculate everything like a Borders book voucher? Coz I can. It’s like the whole economy of the world can be explained to me as Borders book vouchers. It’s the mark of every good bookcrazygoddess. The End. Anyway! 20% Borders book voucher on Reclaim your Dreams!
Signing out, your resident BookPimp
Chris has finished his weekly nap-workout & is reading a booky wooky. Charlie & Angel are now competing to make the smallest puppy sleeping bundles. Holy adorable. I need another cup of tea to warm me up. Then I might go gaze lovingly at some books for a while.
Hope you love love love the book if it speaketh your name!
