Quote of the Day: Grandmother Wisdom
Posted by Goddess Leonie on September 8th, 2009. Filed under: Joyful Goddess Life.

Many of you already know my Grand-Mother {known as Granny to one & all}. She’s 92. She is the most positive, joyful, loving, hilarious person I know.
Granny is the Elder Goddess of our family, and a centrepin in our family wisdom. She also has probably the raddest sense of humour of anyone I know. You never really know which one you are going to get – the wisdom, or the giggles.
Below is an accurate accounting of my Grandmother Upon Hearing the News of Me Being Up The Duff…
Gorgeous Granny (GG for short): Oh my darling, that is the best news I’ve heard in a long time!
Moi: Awww thanks Gran, I love you.
GG: And I love you right back! And I love Chris too! That’s just beautiful.
Moi: You’re the best Gran!
GG: You know what that means now you are having a family now, don’t you darling?
Moi: (expecting something profound and wise, from elder goddess to maiden on how to become a mama) No Gran, what’s that?
GG: It means you can go to KFC and get a FAMILY BUCKET!

Dearest Gran,
You really are The.Best.Ever.
love,
your vegetarian granddaughter who is so glad she knows the real meaning of family now…

Teehee…this is so funny!!! She looks like a darlin!!!!! I always imagined my mom to grow old like her…being so extremely funny and honest and open…I always thougt my children will love her the most cause she is soooo funny….
things worked out a bit different…my mom lived to see my dream of becoming a mommy come true…and then she left…just like that…she left.
What an amazing age…92….wow!!!! I agree with a friend of yours who said you must make an album with photos in of grandma’s! Such fun!!!! I’m sure it will sell too.
Teehee…what a sport! xx

LOL! Gran’s, like small kids, say the darndest things. They are like earth bound angels who bring so much joy.

Oh my goodness, that is so sweet and funny!! She reminds me of my gran who would always come up with the craziest wise cracks. Although, I won’t post them here, cause even at 98 most of them were on the um… RACY side!
YAY to fun loving grans!!
And love to you…. up the duff!!

Such an adorable conversation! And I love this line: “You never really know which one you are going to get – the wisdom, or the giggles.” I will consider myself a success in life if, when I am 92, someone has that to say about me… Please, more GG anecdotes! I’m feeling the Granny love!

The first thing I did after coming back from the doctors with a positive result was to stop for a Happy Meal. After all I was carrying a child with me! Lol! I still have that meal´s toy 14 years later. *grin*

I am not a vegetarian, and I have two children, but I would never dream of getting the family bucket. KFC always makes me a little ill. But now I wonder – am I missing out on the quintessential family experience? Do I have to risk extreme gastric distress to try it and find out?
Gotta love the grannies!

Goddess Paula ~ Oh babe… I LOVE that! A Happy Meal it IS!!!! What a way to celebrate
Goddess Amber ~ I’m wondering exactly the same thing sweetie! tee hee hee
