I believe
that art does not have to be
about
competition
or worry
or getting it right
or making it look pretty.
I believe that art does not have to be
another stick
to measure ourselves
push ourselves
or whack ourselves with.
Instead…
I believe art
can be a
tool for healing
a place of power
a splash of insight
a prayer
a laughter of colour
a sacred, holy path to walk.
Art can be the path we take
to discover the goddess inside us.
And most of all,
art can be
our gift to
ourselves.
Make art that looks like you.
Make art that sings to your spirit.
Make art that is medicine.
Art can be holy and healing…
all we need do is claim it,
and make it.
I believe in you…

I agree 100%. Painting has always been a spiritual experience for me. I live to create and feel pride in my gift! It’s especially fun to create for others!

What a wonderful post…I so agree with you about art. I have found creating art to be a beautiful sacred journey into my soul and the process is soo freeing. Taking your creativity course was such a profound experience for me. I discovered my love for painting and what I realized was in the creation process I discovered my power…to be able to take a vision and see it unfold, adapt and change as it becomes a reality has been a metaphor I try to apply to my life.

Beautiful!
I spent a long time thinking about the Creative Goddess course, mulling it over, and feeling like I wasn’t creative enough to do it.
Then, all the sudden, I said, “Leonie says we’re all creative! I’m in!” and I started thinking of myself as an artist instead of “just a writer”. (:
