Creative Goddess: Create a scrap-journal
Posted by Goddess Leonie on December 23rd, 2009. Filed under: Creative Goddess, Mama Goddess.

Hola precioushearts!
Another little creative project I’ve been working on… creating a scrapjournal for our little merbaby
Since we became pregnant, I’ve been wanting to create a beautiful journal to document this precious time. I hunted up and down for the perfect sized book to do it in – but then found this lovely article by Em about making her own folder for each of her children.
Hello lightbulb! A FOLDER instead of a JOURNAL!
So I got a plain ringbinder… and went to goddess-town on it…

I’m so loving how richly textured it is becoming!
This could be gorgeous not just as a baby’s journal… but a folder for all your little ones’ creations and your words about them… or your own goddess journal including all your poems, photos, words, doodles & spirit-musings…
*happy sigh*
A little creative project I’ll be playing with over the Christmas break I think
Speaking of creative goodness… I got visited by the Muse Of A Fully Formed Gorgeous Creative Idea today… I love when the idea just comes all ready to go – and all I need to do is listen, create, and let it flow through… so for the next few days, I’ll be doing that… and will hopefully share with you the finished treasure in a few days! Holy dinger!
I love this time of the year… summer solstice – so much sun, warmth, ideas and creative energy. It’s definitely my time of the year for creating and making ideas full and ripe and out in the world!
Hope this creative project is just magical for you…
you are amazing!
love, love, and have I mentioned LOVE!!!

P.S. 25 days until Goddess School begins!

How adorable. I’ve got no little ones of my own, but there is one who is very close to my heart (my four year old cousin). I think I might start one for her, and give it to her when she’s older.
Love to you.

I’ve been scrapbooking since I was a child.
I too, made family scrapbooks & individual scrapbooks for each of my 2 boys. When they became truly interested in their partners to be, they each requested that I send them their scrapbooks. That’s how I knew they were ‘serious’ about their gals!
I just downloaded your 2010 Goddess Workbook. Flipping through it, I am inspired to create more!
Thank you. Happy New Year!
I also follow you on facebook. I make lovely tiny woodland fairies. (You can see some on my fb photos.
I’d like to make a ‘Mer-fairy’ for your baby! Where should I send it?
I don’t have a ‘snail-mail’ address for you.

This is a great idea! What a special way to remember the journey to your little mermaid’s arrival. I think you are so right to grab a binder and start putting things in. When I look at my old scrapbooks, my favorite ones are the first few I did when I was still in high school before I “knew” how to scrapbook. Forget about creating perfection- it’s so overrated! The “imperfect” creations filled with love will win out every time and, therefore, are perfect.

[...] First I decided I wanted to use a ring binder folder to make it more like a living document – one that I can keep adding too, like a scrap-journal. [...]

I just love the journal idea! Just starting my 2012 workbook, and I am only a few pages into it, and love it!
Your scrap journal idea is great. I know one thing that holds me back with journaling, art work, and everyday life activities is PERFECTION, this really holds me back into creating beautiful things, memories, etc. Thanks for helping me let go!
