I’ve been blogging for seven years now. Blogging – just like anything – can be sacred. It can be filled with soul-medicine and lessons.

Here are the big five I’ve learned in keeping blogging sacred.

1. Write with Spirit

What if you wrote when your spirit calls you?

What if you knew that whoever needs to hear the message will hear it?

What if you wrote knowing that blogging is a sacred act of blessing the world?

What would you write if you were a channel?

2. Stop Comparing Yourself

This has been my big medicine to learn – and I suspect I’m not the only one.

Let’s form a revolt. A radiant, ravishing revolt.

One where we stop comparing our own precious lives with others via stat numbers, comment numbers, or how our lives “look.”

I have felt too much the desire to mould my life to Look a certain way so it is more presentable/radiant/marketable on my blog.

But babe, if there’s one thing I know about this beautiful world of ours… is that our humanness and the thousand myriad lovelinesses and oddities that make us us… that’s what we most need.

We need our different voices.

We need ourselves.

Please don’t abandon yourself at the door of Comparison.

You are loved, and you are so ding dang needed.

3. Your Life Is Not Your Blog

Don’t do stuff just so you can blog about it.

Blogging should always remain one component of life living, not the sum expression of it.

I found these journal pages from years ago… I think three years ago?

And I remember when I wrote them… I was feeling like I fiercely needed to reclaim my life again, and give my life, creativity & spirit some beautiful balance back.

Blogging feels much more balanced for me now – especially since I made this reclamation & declaration for myself…

I wanted to share this glimpse into my own process with you… for wherever you are on your blogging journey… whatever you need to give yourself… however you choose to share… and whatever sacred lessons have been showing themselves to you…

4. Give Yourself Time Out

We need it.

Take Time Out regularly from blogging.

Take Time Out from reading other people’s blogs.

Take Time to re-centre with your purpose, who you are beneath the blog and who you wish to be in this world.

Sometimes reading other people’s blogs gets me outside of my own brain and can hinder my creativity.

Time Out to get back to dancing my own dance is muchos needed.

Remember to apply Cave Time to your blogging adventures.

5. Keep Perspective

Ask yourself the big questions.

If my blog isn’t popular (however that may be defined), what does that really mean on my own soul level?

If I don’t blog every day, if I lose some of my audience by following my own heart, if I am not Queen of The Blog Universe – what does it mean?

Not much. Not much at all.

There is still the moon and the stars and Mama Earth waiting for me to sit on her.

There is still my beautiful dog waiting to heal me with his eyes.

There is still my own sacred, precious life to live, blissfully unblogumented and blog-free.

When I think of how to explain the World’s Biggest Summit

I don’t know how.

There’s a million ways of saying it.

How I had this vision

of all these teachers gathering

to share all the big wisdom in their

heart

and speak it to all

who needed to

hear and listen and know and grow.

Like a university of illumination.

There is something very special happening in this world of ours.

We are all growing so quickly, learning so much,

evolving together.

Over and over, I have

seen

again and again

huge, wild, gobsmacking

miracles.

Of things I never thought being possible

being possible

and here

and positively scrumptious.

I’ve seen angels in the sky with my love,

saying over and over

“Can you believe what we are seeing? Do you see it too?”

I’ve seen people

open up

blossum and change and heal.

I’ve seen crystals move of their own accord

I’ve felt dogs lick my face at the perfect time.

I’ve given birth.

I’ve healed from Post Natal Depression and Anxiety.

I thought I’d lost me,

but I found her again

and she was waiting there beneath the muck

even lovelier and wiser and more powerful than ever before.

I am in love with this gigantic, glorious, beautiful world.

SO MUCH.

That’s why I made the Summit.

That, and for many more reasons.

I wanted for

people to be able to learn

what they needed to learn

about everything

creativity, spirituality, business, health, wealth

light bulbs of illumination

all

for free…

without restriction.

Just turn up…

and give yourself what you need.

It’s been a momentous task

to put this baby together.

It’s been a lesson over and over in not burning myself out,

in asking for help,

in having minimum requirements of rest and play,

of taking the easy way, the gentle way

wherever possible.

It was a big birth.

But, holy DINGER, I am in love with this baby that has been born.

It’s Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere!

It’s Spring here in the South!

Happy happy Change of Seasons!!!

I always think of this poster I made a few years ago called Wheel of the Year… us beautiful goddesses walking through our year.

Each step of the labyrinth brings a new season, a new energy into our lives.

Time to be out in the sun.

Time to take stock and reflect.

Time to hibernate and dream.

Time to bloom.

And we get to move through it, being as aware and conscious as we can,

working the medicine of our lives,

to bring forth all we are wanting.

There are many ways to work the energy.

Right now at the change of seasons, it’s the perfect time to cleanse & clear the energy.

To clear away the stuck parts, and welcome in newness.

Welcome in things that will serve us, and help us feel whole.

One of the practices that has been most powerful for me is Sacred Space Clearing.

I began learning it seven years ago in women’s circles, and have been using it ever since.

It’s an ingrained part of my life and my journey now, and I am so grateful for its medicine.

I remember…

A few months ago, right at the turn of autumn, I was feeling really stuck and oof and blark and yark.

I know. I know.

It’s funny energy at the moment right now?

One moment soaring high as a blue winged kite.

The next:

a cacophony of shame, ick, oof & bluck.

It’s energetic bipolar!

The world ashifts beneath our feet.
Some days, all I can do is laugh.
It’s a comedy of errors, and if I wasn’t giggling, I might be lost.

I want you to know.
If you are feeling lost or hurt or sad…

I was sitting there this afternoon.

Awash in a sea of Uck Bluck,

amazed at how crazy things can be,

and I sat and listened in.

Dear Goddess in me, what do you want me to know?

And when I listened,

I saw that I really wanted to go outside.

And I lit giant incense sticks beside my goddess beneath the avocado tree.

And I prayed for us all

to be alight. to remember we are loved. to feel peace & joy again.

And when I listened,

I made a podcast for you.

Tucked away in our laundry,

speaking what is in my heart & soul.

Telling you what I know is true.

And I go and decorate our lil town’s statue of Goddess Persephone.

She’s the goddess of flowers & spring,

Beautiful heart if you’re feeling a bit lost… I just want you to know it’s all okay. The energy is a bit of a bucking bronco at the moment. Everything will be okay, we are just going through a shift.  Hold tight & be gentle with you dearest.

It’s guerilla art in the most goddess of ways!

It’s been creation station around here. The release of the Business Goddess e-course. Being a mama. Oh & did I mention I’m getting married in 12 days?

But then the angels came atapping upon my shoulder yesterday,

and who am I to say no?

So I made a book with them. In a day. Riding donkey-style, of course.

It’s a book from the angels, helped by a number of incredible, brave, beautiful women that I have been fortunate enough to photograph as goddesses over the last six years. I haven’t shared many of these photographs before, but this project called for them. They wanted to sing the song of the angel’s love too.

So here it is, my dearest.

It is for you. And for me.

It’s a few days past, but I keep thinking to myself:

You NEED to share this!

So I am.

Hello.

So, apparently, a few days ago, there was this thing called Christmas.

And it took us two attempts through the rain and floodwaters, but we got to my brother’s place, and there was plenty of this:

Food. Family. Laughing.

And 2.5 hours later, we were done and heading home for a little family nap.

But the part that was my very favourite part of the day?

After all the food and family and frivolity, we drove back to town with two of my very favourite, wise & incredible nonogenerians (aka goddesses in their nineties!)

My ever rambunctious 93 year old Granny:

And the little old wise woman that I grew up down the road from, the incredible 96 year old Nan:

I always feel healed just looking in those eyes. Nan is kind and enlightened.

So, we were driving home. My love driving, Nan beside him. Ostara sitting between me & Granny in the back.

And something very strange happened as we drove.

As soon as the car doors were closed, a holy practice took place.

I don’t even know how to explain it.

I imagine that in traditional cultures, a ceremony takes place where the ancients of the tribe hand over the secrets of the universe to the newest babes of the tribe.

All I know is this:

It happened.

Nan sat in the front seat, talking happily away about how lovely the world is and what a beautiful day it was. Holding the space to witness what was to come forth.

And in the back seat, my grandmother leaned forward, took my daughter’s hand, gazed into her eyes and began whispering.

Whispering in a way that I’ve never seen her do before.

Whispering in a way that was so intimate and so sacred that I did not listen. They were the words of the world, the secret of life.

I knew the words were not for me. They were for the young one.

I got shivers. I could not help the glow in my chest, the sea brewing in my eyes.

I knew I was witnessing a miracle.

The holy baton being transferred and gifted on.

Halfway along, my grandmother began to sing a soft, wisping song.

And my daughter fell deep into slumber. There she stayed for two hours – even as we nestled her out of the car and into bed.

She was tired, that one. She had walking in Dreaming Land to do.

My GrandMother was the same. She kissed my slumbering daughter’s hand, and we dropped her home. She slept through the afternoon too.

She was tired, that one. She had walking in Dreaming Land to do.

Perhaps they met there, I do not know.

I can only imagine my GrandMother walking with her 14th great-grandchild, hand in hand, walking through the fields of Dreaming Land, teaching her all the wisdom, grace, courage & laughter she knows.

That is what I believe.

That is what I know.

And that, my darling, was my Christmas Miracle.

And the thing is? It made me long and wish that I had been given the same when I was a babe. But who am I to know that it didn’t? And who am I to not know that I am still being taught, guided and loved by my ancients every single day of my life?

At the moment, our home is halfway there… I really want to start the new year with a home that is feeling clean & simple & good. It will probably take a couple of weeks to finish, but I know I’m on the right track.

I’ve got new white & aqua wicker boxes to sort out my art supplies & Ostara’s clothes. I’ve taken one bag to St Vinnie’s & have another one to go.

Today I might go hunting for a new desk with shelves.

Most of all, I want to create more room, more space for:

Love. Rainbow colours. Creating. Happy Family. Peace. Gentleness. Joy. Ease. Gratitude.

I want to have a good year, danggit.

I’m tending to the soil, pulling out the weeds, changing what needs to be changed in order to allow the good in.
