Hola gorgeous goddesses,
Whenever I can, I answer Ask Goddess Leonie questions.
I’ve still got a couple of questions backed up for me to answer, but here’s your chance to leave a comment and get your questions answered when I can about creativity, spirituality, spirited business, being a goddess, how I got to be doing what I do, living a joyful life – anything you’d like to know.
You can ask the question as your name, or post under a different name if you’d like to be anonymous – it’s all good.
Also, you might like to check out my new FAQs as well to see if I’ve already answered
So much love & magic to you!

Dear Goddess Leonie,
I would really love to get into meditation. Where do I begin? Are there any books you can recommend? CDs? I am slightly overwhelmed by the amount of choice there seems to be!

Dear Goddess Leonie:
I’ve been a writer for 23 years—a freelance writer for 13—so I have a certain amount of discipline and practice around writing. But now I’m trying to write a book and can’t seem to make myself do it! It’s not “writer’s block”…. I have a detailed outline and the book is essentially written in my head. But I’m avoiding doing the writing, even though my freelance business is slow and I have the time.
Is it fear of change? Is it a sign that I’m not pursuing the right thing? Or is it normal? And how do I move beyond this phase so I can live my dreams of being an inspirational writer?
Oh, Goddess, what say you?

Dear Goddess Leonie,
Where do you go to find your Gems of Joy and other inspiration when a WTF week happens. Recently it seems like every week has been a kick in the teeth (mad transition times do that) and I want to work on building up a strong joyful self that doesn’t get knocked down every time this happens I was wondering if you had any wisdom for me.
Thanks
Allysa

I discovered your blog not to long ago, and I’m completely inspired by you! So, my question is: Have you always been so free and happy and known that you were a goddess? Or, if not, at what point in your life did it kind of click for you? This is all so new and happy for me! You are beautiful! <3

How do you prioritize your days, months, years? How, when you are swimming with ideas, have desires to learn about and explore new people places and things. How do you do fuel your passions, and still try to balance work, family, friends, relationship, nutrition, exercise, feeding you spirit. How do you do so much and still remain grounded and clear?….I begin thinking about all the things my soul longs for and at first I feel excited and giddy then this turns to butterflies and then anxiety and ends in a big feeling of overwhelmedness. I have a friend that keeps telling me “you can do anything you just can’t do everything”.
Do you agree with this statement?
November 7th, 2009 at 9:51 am
Ooh … I like Laurie’s question! I also wonder how you balance your creative life with your teaching, blogging and then there is the laundry, shopping, cooking!
I mentioned on your last post how I have been contemplating starting a women’s circle and wondered what advice you might have on getting this going? A friend had suggested it and then went on to explain the circle she led years ago and how she had everyone read Jean Shiboda Bolen’s book and how they all had to commit to meeting or else the circle would not work. Sounds great, but I fear if I am too rigid in the “rules” people might be afraid to join. Any thoughts? I have a small list of people I want to invite forming in my head …

I don’t have a question, but KTS… check out http://notforrobots.blogspot.com/ I love this lady. Her main tenet is that anyone for whom writing is not hard is a robot… and this site is NOT FOR ROBOTS.
You know how Leonie rules? Well, that is how this lady rules, but specifically for writing.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Oh, wait, so… I’d like to second the gist of the “How to you find the time?” question. I have so many interests… books I’d like to read, art I’d like to make, poems that have yet to be written, and spiritual life I want to devote my time to… but I work two jobs — One full time, one part time = 60 hours a week. Then there’s the husband and the family I’m insanely close to (4 sisters!! I want to have, at the very least phone time with all of them). How to decide?
November 8th, 2009 at 9:09 am
Hola, Gorgeous Goddess!
First off, I want to give you a big, gorgeous hug and a thank you for the gift of inspiration…it was an a*mazing six weeks participating in the Goddess eCourse, and I’m eternally grateful to you and everyone I met through the course. What an experience!
I was wondering what your ideas were on a few subjects; things like synchronicities (do they really mean anything or are they just coincidences?), dreamwork (our higher selves or the Universe trying to tell us something or just indigestion?), and soulmates (crazy idea and wishful thinking or do we each truly have that one, amazing, authentic love out there?).
On the art side of things, any plans for a book? I think a Goddess Leonie book would be such an awesome idea~ I can totally see something along the lines of SARK’s books…You have so many ideas and concepts and such an amazing way of seeing the world and life…it would be a terrific idea!
I wish you and yours all the best in everything…and so many blessings to you on your new endeavor (the retreat looks sooooo divine!). Much love to you!
Namaste~~~

I hope this isn’t too late, or too simple…
I love the little bit of flute music at the end of the Divine Dreaming meditation. Do you have any recommendations for anything similar? Thanks.
November 11th, 2009 at 6:59 am
Hola sweet Veronica!
I’ll answer your question now, as it’s muchos simple
The flute music at the end of that meditation is actually by me… *happy smile and blush* I’m glad you liked it! My love & I own Native American style flutes and took a workshop with a beautiful guy to learn how to play (http://earthsongflutes.com.au/)
The best flute music I can recommend for gorgeous listening is R Carlos Nakai (my favourite is Desert Dance: http://astore.amazon.com/goddessleonie-20/detail/B0000007WM)
His flute music is absolutely stunning… very soothing
Hope this helps dearest!

Quick question, Goddess Leonie. Do you do all the artwork and writing for your website and beautiful creations by hand, or do you use Photoshop or something similar? I love the 2010 workbook and am just wondering if you did it all by hand and then scanned it on your computer or made it on your computer. Either way, very lovely!

Hello Goddess Leonie~
You are a huge inspiration to me. Just wanted to say that!
Ok, now for my question:
Can you offer some advice or techniques that will help me to figure out what I am here for… you know my “BIG” work…. life’s work.
I feel like something is missing, but I can’t figure out what it is.
I apologise if my question is too obtuse!

I came here from your page with the meditation kits where you ask for suggestions what kits we’d also like to see.
Fitting the theme of the site (I thought) and really practical would be a short sort of “pick me up and shine”-meditation.
You will know when your child is there, what raising a toddler in stubborn-phase does to your motivation and strength, even if you work at something you love
So I was looking for something short and sweet (10 mins maybe?) that would instill joy and strength after a tough day so I can happily hop to my writing projects, instead of feeling my brain dribble out my ears from all the child tantrums and dog barking …

Hey goddess leonie, well im fourteen and i believe in being spiritual.I love meditating and my way of meditating is to just close my eyes and listen to everything around me.I really like your lovely ideas and i dearly look up to you.

Dear Goddess Leonie,
We have just met, but when I saw the pictures of you with your precious baby, I knew we already had a connection. She is a beautiful angel, and I congratulate you on your induction into the eternal excitement, anxiety, and overwhelming love that is motherhood. My Angel Face is fourteen years old, and we are still as close as ever. I cherish her every day.
I admire the amount of work you are doing on a daily basis with this new bundle to keep you company. I was not expecting nearly this many e-mails, and it is always such a thrill to see another handpainted, watercolored piece of encouragement and fulfillment in my inbox. Don’t feel as if you have to push too much for us, though. One thing I learned early on is that if you don’t fill your own cup, you won’t have anything left for anyone else. Be sure to get plenty of rest, and have fun with Ostara. Cherish every moment just as it is, and don’t listen to those who say, “Oh, just wait until she…” or “Uh-oh, now it’s time for…” My husband and I chose to have only one child, so I knew I would never experience those moments again. The rest would come later; I enjoyed who she was at every stage of her life. (Okay, except three. She was *horrible* at three! )
Peace to you, and please ignore anything I’ve said that does not resound with you. I know you will be getting far too much advice during this precious time, and I only want to bless you and encourage you. You are going to be an amazing mama. Ostara is truly blessed.

I do have a question — ever consider putting your lovely art on t-shirts and stuff like on http://www.cafepress.com ? I’d LOVE to have a tshirt with your artwork on it!

Hey Leonie!
I was wondering if you know of any online resources and groups that focus on starting up a small, creative business – like what helped you, if anything, or would have been a help if you had known it at the time?
I just purchased this – http://unconventionalguides.com/art.htm and I’m on the waiting list for his empire building kit, but would love other sources as well.
I would love to find a small community of people who support each other in this effort, and any inexpensive resources, to keep me motivated and bounce ideas off of for a project that I’m really excited about
Thanks!!! sending lots of love to you and your gorgeous family!

Dear Goddess Leonie,
thank you for all the light and love and humour you share with the world!
Here is my question:
to my horror, a craft listing of mine was featured recently on Regretsy.com. And the 50+ comments about it were very nasty. I’m a tender-hearted creative and I love crafting, and this has really knocked my confidence. Intellectually I can see the funny aspect of this situation, and also the ‘mob mentality’ that spurned many of the comments, but my heart is still bruised.
Do you have any suggestions for healing a sore creative heart?
Thanks so much (and P.S. your little mermaid is such a delight)!!

Hey Leonie!
I am a newie and have to say firstly that I LOVE what you have created with this wonderful site! It is really such an amazing gift that you have, as in just two days from reading through your website, you have already lifted my spirits and motivated me so much as I was really going through a very difficult time in my life and I did not see a light until seeing yours. ☺
I have a couple of questions, (sorry it may be a wee long…) I couldn’t resist as I know you are so inspirational ☺
1. How did you first get in touch with your feminine essence? I ask this because I cant seem to let go of my personal blocks and fears. How did you delve into the world of being a goddess and being so spirited and glorious?
2. I want to create a wonderful studio haven for me to feel alive and spirited to work in, but I am blocked and don’t know where to start. How do I attempt this?
3. I want to start a business creating spirited artworks that are personalized and have a deep soulful meaning for the end customer. What helped you in terms of establishing yourself and marketing your spirited artwork and qualities to your target market? Do you know of any online resources and support groups that could assist me?
4. And lastly… this is quoted from Laurie Stewart (thank you Laurie ☺ )
“How do you prioritize your days, months, years? How, when you are swimming with ideas, have desires to learn about and explore new people places and things. How do you do fuel your passions, and still try to balance work, family, friends, relationship, nutrition, exercise, feeding you spirit. How do you do so much and still remain grounded and clear?….I begin thinking about all the things my soul longs for and at first I feel excited and giddy then this turns to butterflies and then anxiety and ends in a big feeling of overwhelmedness….”
Much Love

Dear Leonie,
I know that you are very busy with your precious little girl and other family duties, but I wanted to ask you a question anyway. Its okay if you don’t have time to respond.
I am in a bit of a pickle. I can’t really explain too much, except to say that most of my friends and family think I’m crazy and irresponsible.
Even, I think I am crazy and irresponsible.
I’m starting to wonder if something is deeply wrong with me.
I wish so much to be just like you and full of happiness and joy… Could you please give me a word of encouragement?
Thank you.

Goddess Leonie,
I would love to be considered for sponsorship for the Circle. Things have been rough for me the last few months in every way, culminating in my losing my job which has really affected me financially as well as taking a huge blow to my self esteem. Frankly I am just lost unable to shake it and unable to focus. If there is room for me, I would love to be considered. Thank you.
